Meet/Greet Team of Emmanuel Inyang Foundation visits Uduak Reuben of UD Farm Products, others

The Meet/Greet Entreprenuers team started off with a visit to a young, energetic & enterprising lady; Uduak Reuben, CEO of UD FARM Products. Uduak is a B.Sc holder in Agricultural Economics and Extension from the University of Uyo. She’s a passionate farmer who plants cucumber, pepper, garden egg, tomato and cabbage. Uduak is engaged in training of young persons who have keen interest in the field of agriculture. She’s knowledgeable in the area of farm fishing and ever willing to impact the knowledge.

Uduak dreams to own a farm that accommodate different branches of agriculture such as livestock production (poultry & fish farming), crop production (designated areas for plantation of tomato, cabbage, cucumber and pepper). Uduak is knowledgeable in the formulation of fish feed and she practices more of organic farming which makes her vegetable produce better for human consumption.

The team proceeded to Ibeno LGA to meet MaryBernadette Ukalom; CEO of Jomaco Ankara Fashion House. Mary, a graduate of computer science from the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic engages is using Ankara for making baby’s accessories like bed, carrier and “re-useable diaper”. She also makes fascinator, bags, wedding souvenir, turban, auto-gele, duvet and pillow, all with “Ankara fabric”. Mary’s product are made of quality materials. Her knowledge of making these products using Ankara fabric is highly commendable and she’s open to impacting the knowledge through training. Mary runs training via a WhatsApp platform. Thereafter, the team departed to Eket LGA to meet Collins Edoho; CEO of G-Hands Apparels. Collins who’s a passionate tailor, harps on how he grew passion for tailoring during his undergraduate days in the University. Collins clothings are unique and fashionable. He trains youths on tailoring and guide them on developing good morals when relating with customers, so as to enable them grow huge clientele when the finally become employers of Labour. He took time to advise the youths on the need to rise and take after entrepreneurship, so as to be self-sufficient & reliant.

Finally, the team visited Mary Joe, an undergraduate studying business administration at Heritage Polytechnic. Mary is a trained caterer having completed studies at a Catering school prior to starting the tertiary institution. Mary who runs the “M-Lice Delicacy” delivers ‘à la carte’ meals. Mary advised youths to learn skills and develop passion and focus on which ever skills learnt, so as to make ends meet from the acquired skills. Attend the “Akwa Ibom Entrepreneurship” conference on October 24, 2020 at Watbridge hotel, IBB way – Uyo to hear the entrepreneurial stories of these successful entrepreneurs. Also, the conference will provide a platform for networking as vendors will exhibit their products. Furthermore, individuals will have the opportunity to interact with business development specialists and industry leaders and ask questions that borders on entrepreneurship, branding, business development, innovation & wealth creation.

Holds a B.Eng (Hons.) in Chemical Engineering from Akwa Ibom State Univeristy, Mkpat Enin and has worked in the Oil & Gas Industry for about eight years. He is a community organizer, youth development advocate, social/public policy analyst and philanthropist.
